Directions US 2016: Goodbye, Phoenix!

  • Reading time:3 mins read

Directions US. What more to say than: wow! This was an amazing conference, again. A lot of people, a lot of vibe, a lot of NAV. And this year, a lot to look forward to.

Microsoft didn’t disappoint with the news. Dynamics 365 is here with new paradigms, apps are the new big thing, and they really are. There are a lot of improvements in NAV 2017, in the technical stack and in the application alike, and there is a new code editor, something the geeky part of the NAV community has been waiting for a long time. All in all, quite something.

As always at Directions, I was busy. This year I got two sessions, and both of them went well. Thanks to all amazing people who participated and shared their thoughts and encouragement. The good tradition calls for me to post my content here on my blog, so here we go.

NAV Expert Panel Session Begins

  • Reading time:1 min read

imageI’m right now sitting in the virtual lobby of the NAV Expert Panel Session of the NAV day of the Decisions Spring 2012 conference. The panel features three MVPs, three book authors, and established members of the NAV community: Eric Wauters, Matt Traxinger, Steven Renders, Brent Fisher and myself.

With Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 beta out and a lot of partners having laid their hands on it, I assume the discussion will develop around NAV 2013 topics.

I don’t know how much time I’ll have during the session, because I’ll probably be busy answering questions, but I’ll be tweeting live from the session, so if you don’t have an opportunity to join the conference, you can still stay in the loop by following me at @vjekob, or follow the conference hashtag #msdwdecisions.

Decisions Spring 2013 Kicking-off Next Week

imageMake sure not to miss Decisions, the virtual conference about Microsoft Dynamics, by MSDynamicsWorld.com. It’s starting next Monday, and I hope you already have it in your calendar. It’s a four day conference, a day per Dynamics flavor (SL is the only one not being served). The best of all – it’s free! Be there.

The Microsoft Dynamics NAV day is on Wednesday, June 20, and it’s featuring a program manager from Microsoft, three MVPs, (at least) three book authors, and a team of seasoned professionals in a series of interesting presentations.

Just like the previous years, I’ll be speaking there myself, and if you would like to join me for an excursion into the world beyond ERP, where several disruptive trends are shaping the future of the IT, and consequently the ERP. I’ll take an angle at the challenges the present and the future bring, and how Microsoft Dynamics NAV faces them, copes with them, and plays along. I promise it’ll be time well spent.

The conference is virtual, so you can attend it in your slippers, I won’t mind. See you in the cloud!

Countdown to Decisions Spring 2011

  • Reading time:1 min read

imageAre you ready for Decisions Spring 2011 conference, which is bound to start in less than a week, right on your desktop? For the fourth time already it’s going to deliver cutting edge content, independent views and analysis, and an immense opportunity to network with your peers, partners, or prospects.

June 16 is the NAV day and if you are reading this blog, you should be there, because it delivers some top Microsoft Dynamics NAV content, including four MVP sessions and a keynote by Joshua Greenbaum, an industry veteran and one of leading independent ERP analysts and cloud evangelists, whose Enterprise Antimatter blog has inspired many (yours truly included) while it ran at ZDNet.

Make sure you don’t miss my session, either! I’ll present some pretty cool B2B scenarios, including live vendor price lists, transactional intercompany postings, smart requisitions, and more. See you in the Cloud!

Decisions Spring 2011 – don’t miss it!

  • Reading time:2 mins read

imageThe countdown has started–it’s less than a month left to Decisions Spring 2011, the fourth virtual conference by MSDynamicsWorld.com. It’s again delivered from the comfort of your desktop, and you can attend all the presentations and mingle the expo booths in your pajamas and slippers, and nobody would care. Or know.

About the conference

This is what the conference site says about the event:

Decisions Spring 2011 is an independent conference about Microsoft Dynamics solutions organized by MSDynamicsWorld.com. This live online venue is free to attendees and supported by our sponsors. We build this event upon our leading online news and product information resources to provide a conference experience that provides the latest perspectives on Microsoft Dynamics AX, CRM, GP, and NAV.

Decisions Spring 2011 is simply the most focused and effective way to hear about real world Dynamics solutions and case studies and get practical guidance about the latest Microsoft Dynamics trends from the strategic and thought leaders across the Dynamics community. We bring together consultants, analysts, partners, customers, and more for an event that is educational, informational, and collaborative.

Don’t miss my presentation

Again, I was invited to deliver a presentation there, and this time I went for a tricky topic: business to business integration using NAV. My presentation comes with a flashy title “Harnessing the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Technology Stack for Streamlined B2B Process Integration” (a mouthful, I know) and you can read the summary by clicking here.

Make sure you don’t miss it, because there is going to be a quite cool demo in the end, showing how to integrate multiple NAV installations on process and transaction level, in two simple real-life scenarios.

NAV Day

The conference will be delivered over four days, each day being dedicated to a single Dynamics product (SL is the only product not being represented at the conference). NAV Day is June 16, and you can check the agenda here: http://decisions.msdynamicsworld.com/product/nav

There are going to be some quite interesting presentations, and four NAV MVPs will be sharing their knowledge and experience with you: Eric Wauters, Jörg Stryk, Rene Gayer, and yours truly.

Networking and meeting your peers, partners or potential prospects in the virtual expo room has always been fun and I’m totally looking forward to meeting you there!

Decisions Fall 2010

  • Reading time:2 mins read

Decisions Fall 2010It seems like yesterday that I was posting about this last time, but time does run fast. And so do technology and innovation. Decisions virtual conference is here again, this time in its Fall 2010 edition, bringing a lot of fantastic content split into four separate tracks (AX, GP, NAV and CRM) delivered over four days, starting with November 1. For me, and I believe you too, the most important day is the NAV day, which will be delivered on November 3.

NAV Decisions 2009 is over, but not quite

NAV Decisions 2009

Did you have a chance to attend the NAV Decisions 2009 virtual conference? If yes, how did you like the event? To me, this was a great experience. It wasn’t the first virtual conference I was a part of, but it most certainly was the best.

But if you didn’t have a chance or time to be there (virtually), you don’t have to worry. Even though the conference is over, the website and all the content will be available for three more months. So, until midnight of January 15, 2010, you can still visit the conference website, register and watch and listen to any of the presentations delivered.
