Top Ten Microsoft Dynamics Stories of 2008

MSDynamicsWorld.com, the independent authority for news and views on Microsoft Dynamics, has closed the year 2008 with a review of top ten stories published on their website in 2008.

Among the Top Ten stories of 2008 you can read a great article about RoleTailored interface, titled How Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Will Use the "Role-Tailored" Interface to Allay the Fears of Reluctant Users by Dave Roys, and my article about implementation best practices, titled Typical Microsoft Dynamics NAV Implementation Blunders.

I am especially proud that both mine, and my friend Dave’s articles have made their way into Top Ten. Both of these articles were written in the midst of writing our book, and taking time to write an article was next to impossible for both of us. I am glad to learn that both the readership and the editors of MSDynamicsWorld.com have found our articles good enough to include them in their Top Ten selection, among the strong competition.

You can read the whole article here.

Where I have been for the past eight months…

image This blog started enthusiastically, I had as many as 14 posts per month. Taking into account that blogging was only a hobby, I blogged like crazy. Then I went silent.

No, I wasn’t tired from blogging, I didn’t experience a writer’s block, quite the contrary! I was working on a project. A top secret one. Now it has been done, and here are the results:  a book called Implementing Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas

  • Reading time:1 min read

Although I really planned, and I really wanted to, I don’t think I am going to post anything useful in next few days. I spent last week in Seattle, attending TechReady conference, and now I am taking three days off – in Las Vegas.

As the matter of fact, I’ve just arrived, have a semi-splendid view of The Strip from my hotel room, which has much more drawbacks than benefits, so when I give it a proper thought, with all this noise, music and jet engines blowing my ears away, I’m probably going to stay awake and produce something anyway. But I promise nothing.

Thanks to everybody on recent comments, I am glad that this blog started rolling, and I hope I make it worthwile for you. Dave was actually the only one who attempted the quiz from the last post, and since he was almost correct, I give him full credit in this post, but withhold the bragging rights. So, congratulations, Dave! 🙂

Stay tuned, for the next thing I am going to post might be really interesting for the NAV development community. See ya!

Code of coding 2: Documenting changes

  • Reading time:9 mins read

Few days ago, when I wrote about coding, I didn’t have a slightest idea that at the same time, at the completely opposite part of the globe, Dave was blogging almost about the same thing. It is interesting to know that I am not the only one out there actually worying about code, and how it looks like.

The most common thing I used to hear when I asked bad coders about their code was: “It works, why shoud I care.”
