This is not your typical CV. This page is here just if you want to check my technical references and judge if I am worth my salt.

I’ve been writing code for nearly as long as I remember. I’ve started at about 10 with a ZX Spectrum, and I immediately fell in love with programming, and there probably hasn’t been a day in my life since then, that I haven’t written at least a few lines of code.

I am a freelancer with 25 years of professional experience with development on Windows platforms. During this time I’ve developed in Pascal, Visual Basic, C++, JavaScript, C#, T-SQL, AL, PowerShell, TypeScript, (exactly in this order) and probably a few other languages I forgot along the way. I’ve worked in professional capacity for a few small companies, a few large ones, and since I’ve become a freelancer back in 2009 I’ve worked with more than 80 companies from more than 20 countries and from all continents (except Antartica).

For the past 7 years, I’ve been primarily contracting with NaviPartner, a Danish company specializing in cloud-based retail solutions based on Business Central. For them, I’ve built a POS front end based on JavaScript. For the better part it has been about wrestling with limitations and pushing boundaries of what’s possible. That product is something I am most proud of, probably in my entire career.

A few other notable companies I worked with

  • Netthandelen, a Norwegian Internet retailer for whom I built an integration layer that sits in Business Central and connects their web shops to BC in real time.
  • Adacta (now part of BE-terna), a Business Central reseller and a Microsoft Dynamics Presidents Club member, with whom I have worked both professionally and as a subcontractor on a number of project.
  • Microsoft, you know who Microsoft is. I’ve worked with them on delivery of a huge number of “how do I” videos for Microsoft Dynamics NAV for MSDN, as well as several virtual trainings. I’ve also developed courseware for them (several classroom-led MOC courses about Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013) and technical certification exams.

Since 2002 I have been delivering presentations. I’ve spoken at close to 100 international conferences and events, in close to 20 countries. The most notable conferences I spoke at are NAV TechDays (more than 15 sessions and more than 10 preconference workshops), Directions EMEA and Asia (more than 20 sessions, and more than 10 workshops), Directions North America (about 10 sessions and a few workshops), and WinDays (more than 30 sessions). I’ve had a seven-year streak of being rated the best speaker and an eight-year streak of having the best session at NAV TechDays, and I’ve been a top-10 speaker at WinDays.

I’ve delivered more than a hundred workshops and classroom trainings, and I’ve done that in four different languages (yes, I am fluent in four languages, and I can get myself around in five more).

During my career I’ve held a number of technical certifications: MCP, MCSA, MCAD, MCSD, MCDBA. I was a certified trainer (MCT) between 2005 and 2016, and I was a certified project manager (PMP) between 2008 and 2012, and I’ve held a number of Microsoft Dynamics certifications, technical and functional alike.

Since 2010, I’ve been awarded the prestigious MVP award from Microsoft, every year, eleven times in a row.
