A couple of weeks ago, a new page was created on PartnerSource – the “Demo Microsoft Dynamics NAV” page. You can access it at http://aka.ms/demonav
The page contains (at the time) two scripts and two How Do I videos that help you establish a demo NAV 2015 environment on Azure, in Office 365. The whole process is highly automated and you can get up and running in a matter of minutes. When I say “up an running” I mean this: having a virtual machine running on Azure, with NAV 2015 accessible through Windows, Web, and Tablet client, with single sign-on to Office 365, and a nice demo SharePoint Online portal with several reports from NAV.
One more great Directions EMEA event is over, and it was a great experience again. I am a bit sorry, though, that my main focus was delivering presentations, so I enjoyed myself less mingling around, meeting new folks and consuming content. But it was still a great event.
What I liked a lot is the audience participation and the interest – all sessions, at least those that I attended or delivered, were packed full. It was a real pleasure presenting and demoing tips and tricks in my “Spicing up your user interface” session, and ranting about barriers and gaps between consultants and developers in my “Breaking the barriers” session. Thank you all who attended and I hope it was worth your time.
Many people have asked me about availability of a downloadable Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 demo. Unless you are an existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV customer on a support plan, or a Microsoft Dynamics partner, you can’t download a demo version from a public Microsoft web site.
You can download your copy from a community web site though – check the links at the bottom of this post. Be advised that some of the downloads are larger than a gigabyte, which might not be too download friendly.
So, if you can’t download the demo, there is still a great option for trying Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009: go to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Test Drive website at http://www.dynamicsnavtestdrive.com/ and access the online virtual environment where you can try Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 for free.
